User instruction for safety eyewear according to EN 166, AS 1337.1, CSA 94.3, Z 87.1 and EC Directive 89/686/EEC

 

Caring for your frames

Clean the lenses with mild soap (pH 5.5) and luke warm water.  Blot moisture with your cleaning cloth, sunglass pouch, a soft, clean cloth or allow to air dry.  Do not dry or clean the lens with any paper products as it may damage the lens and/or coatings.  If the lens is scratched, contact your authorized Cat® Safety dealer to purchase replacement parts.  Do not place your safety glasses face down.  Store your safety glasses in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and/or heat.

Do not expose your safety glasses to extreme temperature conditions (colder than -30C/-22F or hotter than +80C/+176F)  Do not let your safety glasses come into contact with any detergents, cleaners or chemicals.  Do not bend your safety glasses unnecessarily.  Inspect your safety glasses periodically for damage. If there

is damage the lenses and/or glasses should be replaced, as the UV protection and your visibility may be compromised.  Under normal circumstances; eyewear

should provide adequate protection for up to 6 months.

If the symbol F,B and A are not common to both the oculars and the frame then it is the lower which shall be assigned to the complete eye protector.

For an eye protector to comply with field of use symbol 9 both the frame and ocular shall be marked with the symbols together with one of the symbols F, B or A.

WARNING

If protection against high speed particles at extremes of temperature is required then the selected eye-protector should be marked with the letter T immediately

after the impact letter, i.e. FT, BT or AT.  If the impact letter is not followed by the letter T then the eye protector shall only be used against high speed particles at room temperature.

Eye protectors against high speed particles worn over standard opthalmic spectacles may transmit impacts, thus creating a hazard to the wearer.

The frame, when in contact with the skin may cause allergic reaction to susceptible individuals; if this is the case the user should stop wearing the frames

immediately and a doctor’s advice should be consulted.

Fitting instructions

In putting on the protector, pull temples apart and guide into a secure and comfortable position so that the protector fits securely.

Uses

Wood working, power tools, construction sites and machining in accordance with the category of field of use and mechanical strength.

Limitations

Do not use this protector when doing torch welding, torch cutting, electrical arc welding or any other operations which produce harmful levels of light or infrared radiation.

This protector is not intended for use with infrared radiation.

The protector should not be used for simulated war games, including paintball and laser tag.

This protector is not intended to protect against laser light.

This protector is not recommended for racket sports, shooting or other recreational or athletic activities.
